Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Saturday hosted an iftar party for the leaders of different professional bodies at her official residence Ganobhaban.
Vice Chancellors and teachers of different universities, intellectuals, journalists, writers, artistes, singers, physicians, engineers, lawyers, businessmen and players attended the iftar.
The Prime Minister went round different tables set for the guests, exchanged pleasantries with them and enquired about their wellbeing.
Before the iftar, a special munajat was offered seeking divine blessings for the continued peace, progress and prosperity of the nation.
Khatib of the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque Moulana M Salauddin Ahmed conducted the munajat.
Prayers were also offered seeking eternal peace for the departed souls of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib and other victims of the August 15 massacre, the four national leaders, martyrs of the Liberation War and the heroes of democratic movements.
