Trading in Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) registered a fall on the second day of the week on Monday, shrugging off Sunday’s gaining streak.
The DSE benchmark index, DSEX lost 29.06 points or 0.69 percent to reach 4134.12 at the closing of the day’s trading at 2:35 pm.
Of the 278 issues traded, 104 gained, 149 declined and 25 remained unchanged. Shares worth Tk 602.47 crore changed hands on the day.
The CSE key index, CSCX lost 149.67 points to reach 7981.03 at the end of day.
Of the 213 issues traded, 81 advanced, 107 suffered loss and 25 remained unchanged. The value of the traded issues was Tk 42.03 crore.
Earlier, in the day, both the bourses got off to a positive trend with the DSEX gaining 25.96 points or 0.62 percent while CSCX gaining 15.47 points at 11:20 am.
The top 10 gainers at the DSE, dominated by insurance companies, include Progati Life Insurance, Sunlife Insurance, Rupali Life Insurance, Sandhani Insurance, Meghna Life Insurance, Ibn Sina, JMI Syringes, Prime Life Insurance, Progressive Life Insurance and Libra Infusion.
