A trade delegation of Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) took part in the Johor Bahru Asean Expo recently held at Persada Johor International Convention Centre in Malaysia.
During the exposition, the DCCI team joined a meeting with Johor Bahru Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JBCCI) and signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with JBCCI, said a DCCI press release here on Sunday.
DCCI president M Sabur Khan and JBCCI president Loh Liam Hiang signed the MoU on behalf of their respective sides.
Speaking on the occasion, Sabur Khan urged the Malaysian businessmen to invest in leather, leather goods, power and energy, food-processing, gas-based industry, telecommunication and agro-based industry in Bangladesh.
He stressed strengthening chamber-to-chamber relations to boost bilateral trade and economic cooperation.
During the programme, the Klang Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCCI) invited DCCI to participate in the upcoming exposition to be held in December this year.
Later, the DCCI trade team visited Iskandar Development region, the main southern development corridor in Johor, Malaysia.
