Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) has announced September 23-29 as ‘Entrepreneurship Week’ to promote its project of creating 2000 new entrepreneurs by this year.
DCCI President M Sabur Khan officially announced the week at the motivational workshop for the entrepreneurs held at the Daffodil International University (DIU) Auditorium on Monday.
He also urged the government to observe September 23-29 as “Entrepreneurship Week” every year from now on.
A 22-year-old British-Bangladeshi entrepreneur, Sabirul Islam spoke as the main speaker at the workshop.
Sabirul, the winner of ‘British Bangladesh Power 100’ award in 2013, started his own business at the early age of 16. He is now a successful entrepreneur as well as a renowned speaker and motivator.
In his speech, he said proper planning and perseverance are the prerequisites to become a successful entrepreneur.
Sabirul will deliver speeches at six universities in Dhaka. Besides, he will also visit some 10 different universities and colleges at Chittagong, Sylhet and Brammanbaria to deliver his speech and share his experience.
“We’ve to create employment to meet the growing demand of employment generation,” Sabur Khan said.
He urged the students of Daffodil International University to submit their business ideas to the DCCI during the Entrepreneurship Week.
He informed that Bangladesh Bank is cooperating with DCCI to implement its program of creating new entrepreneurs.
Sabur Khan shared his experience as entrepreneur with the students and exchanged his views about how to become an entrepreneur, saying the more entrepreneurs will be created, the more economy will be developed.
Vice Chancellor of Daffodil International University Prof Dr M Lutfar Rahman and National President of Junior Chamber International, Bangladesh Mustafizur Rahman Sohel were present as special guests.
