In an effort to create awareness among all and boost productivity in the country’s industrial units, the National Productivity Day will be celebrated today with elaborate programs.
The National Productivity Organization (NPO) under the Industries Ministry has taken up elaborate programs to celebrate the day with the theme ‘Productivity Leads to Prosperity’.
President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina issued separate messages ahead of the day hoping that the productivity concept would gain thrust among people and help Bangladesh become a prosperous nation within a short time.
The President, in his message, said, “Productivity could be boosted through highest utilization of resources combining technology and skilled human resources.”
He said the government has taken various steps to boost productivity in mills and factories. “The government is committed to turning Bangladesh into a middle-income country by 2021. In this perspective, National Productivity Day is very important.”
The Prime Minister, in her message, said, “Apart from setting up new mills and factories at public and private initiatives, steps have also been taken to augment productivity through building skilled manpower and infusing new technology.”
She hoped that through observing the day, productivity concept would gain impetus among the people and help Bangladesh to become a prosperous nation within short time. “I wish all-out success of the programs undertaken on the occasion.”
The Prime Minister also said the government has been implementing various programs to help flourish the country’s industrial sector. “We’ve reopened a number of mills and factories shut down during the previous government.”
As part of the program, a colorful rally will be brought out from Osmani Memorial Auditorium premises in the city.
Industries Minister Dilip Barua will lead the rally to be participated by State Minister for Industries Omor Faruk, Industries Secretary M Moinuddin Abdullah, and officials of the Ministry and NPO.
Later, a seminar titled ‘Productivity Leads to Prosperity’ will be held BIAM auditorium in the city.
The Industries Minister, the State Minister for Industries, the Industries Secretary and President of Bangladesh Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) Kazi Akram Uddin Ahmed will attend it.
