Three people, including two women, were killed in separate road accidents in the city’s Banasree and Bhashantek areas on Monday.
The victims were identified as Mala Bibi, 32, Anisa, 40, and Shah Alam alias Razzak, 32.
Mala Bibi and Anisa skidded off a CNG-run auto-rickshaw and fell into a roadside water body around 12 noon as its driver lost control over the steering while overtaking another vehicle in Block-F of Banasree under Khilgaon Police Station.
Locals rescued the duo and rushed them to nearby Al-Razi Hospital where doctors pronounced them dead.
In another accident, Razzak, a rickshaw-puller, and his two passengers received fatal injuries when a human-hauler, Luguna, hit his rickshaw near Tamanna Complex at Kachukhet under Bhashantek Police Station at about 11:45 am.
Razzak was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where attending doctors declared him dead at about 1pm.
