Separate hartals in Sylhet division, Titash upazila of Comilla, Boda upazila of Panchagarh and Phultala upazila of Khulna passed off without any major incidents of violence on Sunday.
In Sylhet, local unit of Jatiyatabadi Swechchhasebak Dal enforced the dawn-to-dusk shutdown in the division protesting the arrest of its central leaders, including general secretary Mir Sharafat Ali Sapu.
The activists of Swechchhasebak Dal and Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal brought out a procession with the symbolic coffin of the Chief Election Commissioner in the city during the hartal hours.

Two crude bombs were exploded at Naya Sarak in the city during the shutdown.
In Khulna, pickets blocked different roads by burning tyres during the shutdown.
Local unit BNP enforced the hartal in the upazila protesting the arrest of its party leaders and the filing of ‘false’ cases against them.
In Panchagarh, the local unit of the 18-party alliance enforced the half-day hartal protesting the attack on its procession by police and ruling party men.
On Saturday, at least nine people, including four cops, were injured in a clash with police when the law enforcers and the ruling party men attacked a procession brought out by the 18-party alliance supporters in Boda upazila during the hartal hours.
Police arrested joint convener of district unit Swechchhasebak Dal and Boda upazila unit convener Asaduzzaman Asad during the incident.
In Comilla, the daylong hartal enforced by local unit BNP in Titash upazila of the district demanding the immediate release of BNP standing committee member MK Anwar MP, was observed peacefully.
