Two people, including a minor boy, have been murdered in separate incidents in Kishoreganj and Panchagarh districts.
In Kishoreganj, a minor boy, who was injured as his stepbrother tried to suffocate him at Gobindapur village in Hossainpur upazila, died on the way to the capital.
The deceased was identified as Akib, 6, son of Abdul Khaleque of the village.
Police said the two wives of Khaleque picked a quarrel over a trifling matter on Monday evening.
At one stage, Jashim Uddin tried to strangle his stepbrother Akib, leaving the minor boy critically injured.
He was rushed to Kishoreganj 250-bedded hospital where doctors referred him to Dhaka for better treatment. Akib, however, died on the way to Dhaka Medical College Hospital on Tuesday.
Mohammad Khairul Islam, sub-inspector of Hossainpur Police Station, said victim’s mother Alpana Akhter filed a case in this connection.
In Panchagarh, a robber was stabbed to death by some miscreants in Debiganj upazila on Monday night.
The deceased was identified as Sanwar Hossain alias Sanwar, son of Syed Ali Munshi of Purbo Debiduba village in the upazila.
Being informed by locals, police recovered the body of Sanwar which bore several injury marks from near the road of LCD Godown at about 9 pm.
Sanwar was wanted in several cases, including of robbery and murder, said police.
