Three people, including a woman, were killed in separate incidents in Moulvibazar and Narail on Tuesday night and Wednesday.
In Moulvibazar, a man was hacked to death allegedly by his younger brother over a land dispute at Kail village in Rajnagar upazila on Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Ludi Miah, 45, of the village.
Locals said Ludi and his brother Altaf Miah had been at loggerheads over the ownership of a piece of land.
Ludi and Altaf locked into an altercation over the issue around 9:30 am today. At one stage, Altaf hit Ludi in the head with a sharp weapon, leaving him dead on the spot.
In another incident, a sexagenarian man was beaten to death by his nephew over a family feud at Khalishpur village in Ssadar upazila on Tuesday night.
The deceased was identified as Elais Miah, 65.
Police said Jayed Miah, 28, hit his uncle Elais with a stick over around 10:30 pm, leaving him dead on the spot.
Police recovered the both the bodies and sent those to Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
In Narail, a housewife was tortured to death by the family members of her in-laws at Pankabila village in Sadar upazila on Tuesday night.
The deceased was identified as Beloka Begum, 22, wife of Alamin and daughter of Miajan Mollah of Bil Dumurtala village in the upazila.
Sources said Alamin used to torture Beloka for dowry after their marriage. Alamin along with his family brought Beloka to the Sadar hospital in an unconscious condition on Tuesday night where doctors declared her dead.
After hearing the death of Beloka, Alamin and his family members escaped from the hospital.
A case was filed in this connection.
