BGB man hurt by smugglers in Naogaon

Naogaon: A member of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) was injured in an attack by a group of smugglers at Bastabar border point in Dhamoirhat upazila on Friday night.

The injured was identified as Nesar Uddin,20, member of Patnitala BGB battalion-46.

Lieutenant Colonel Rafiqul Hasan, commander of the Patnitala BGB battalion-46, said acting on secret information that a huge consignment of smuggled liquor and Phensidyl syrup was entering the country from India, a patrol team of BGB challenged a group of smugglers in the area at about 9:00 pm.

The smugglers attacked the BGB man with sharp weapons leaving him injured.

The smugglers managed to flee the scene.

The injured was admitted to Najipur BGB Hospital.

A case was filed in this connection.
