The maritime ports of Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to hoist local cautionary signal No 3 as squally weather may affect the North Bay, adjoining coastal area of Bangladesh and the ports due to the well-marked low.

A monsoon low formed over the Northwest Bay and adjoining Bangladesh-West Bengal coast has turned into the well-marked low over the same area, said a Met office warning message.

Under its influence, steep pressure gradient lies over the North Bay, it said.

All fishing boats and trawlers over the North Bay have been advised to remain close to the coast and proceed with caution till further notice.
