Four trawlers capsize in Bay

Bhola: At least 13 fishermen went missing as four fishing trawlers sank in the Bay of Bengal amid storm on Saturday night and Sunday.
Khairul Kabir, officer-in-charge of Doulatkhan Police Station, said a fishing trawler carrying 18 fishermen of Doulatkhan capsized in the Bay during storm when they went to Satban area in the deep sea for catching fish on Saturday night.
Among them, seven fishermen managed to swim ashore while the rest went missing.
Of the missing fishermen, seven were identified as Babul, 40, Russel, 35, Faruk, 35, Ismail, 38, Latu, 50, Abu, 55 and Alamgir, 40 while the identity of the others could not be known yet. All hail from Doulatkhan upazila of the district.
Coastguard Operation Officer Lieutenant Hasan, said a team of coastguard from Charfashion upazila conducted a drive to rescue the missing fishermen.
In another incident, two fishermen went missing when three trawlers of Siraj Majhi, Shahjahan Majhi and Siddique Majhi with 24 fishermen on board capsized in the Bay at Dhal Char in Charfashion upazila amid storm on Sunday night.
The missing fishermen were identified as Abdul Ali Poddar, 38 and Siddique Bari, 32 of Baufal in Patuakhali district.
Enamul, officer-in-charge of Dakshin Aicha Police Station confirmed the incident.
