3 women held along with smuggled goods

Benapole (Jessore): Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested three women along with smuggled Indian goods in Jamtala area in Sharsha upazila of Jessore district on Saturday night.
The arrestees were identified as Shukjan Begum,50, wife of Anisur Rahman, Lilufa Khatun,30, wife of Yunus Ali and Khadija Begum,50, wife of Adam Ali- all hail from Gatipara village of Benapole.
Subedar Ayub Hossain, Benapole camp commander of BGB-26, said acting on tip-off, a team of the BGB conducted a drive in the area and arrested the trio along with Indian sarees, motor parts, fruits, sharp weapons and other goods at about 7:30 pm.
The market value of the seized items would be around Tk 13.40 lakh, the commander added.
The seized goods were deposited to Benapole custom house.
A case was filed with Benapole Port Police Station in this connection.
