Observing that only registering protest against the Israeli genocide in Gaza at individual level is not enough, Nagarik Oikya convener Mahmudur Rahman Manna on Tuesday said the government should reach the voices of 16 crore Bangladeshis to the world.
He came up with the observation at a human chain organized by Women for Good Governance and Sammilita Nari Samaj in front of the National Press Club protesting the Israeli aggression against the innocent civilians of Palestine.
Manna suggested the government discuss the issue with friendly nations to stop the brutal Israeli attack on the innocent people of Gaza.
He also noted that a global unity is needed to stop Gaza killing immediately.
Former election commissioner Brig Gen (retd) M Sakhawat Hossain described the Israeli killing in Gaza as an undoubtedly genocide.
Justice for genocide in 1945-48 was inducted and the Israeli genocide in Gaza will similarly come under justice one day, he said.
“The United Nations, international organizations and the world leaders must get united to stand against the genocide as Israel has killed over 500 people until now,” Sakhawat added.
Sammilita Nari Samaj general secretary Ruby Amatullah and former teacher of the Government and Politics Department of Jahangirnagar University Prof Dilara Chowdhury also spoke on the occasion. .
