Assistant Teachers’ of Primary Schools Society (ATPSS) on Monday announced a series of programs to press home their demands including removal of salary disparity with the head masters and cent percent promotion.
According to the programs announced from a national convention held at Suritola Government Primary School in the city, teachers of primary schools across the country will enforce a 10-day work abstention for one hour from 10 am beginning on April 1, along with signature campaign of the teachers to be placed to the Prime Minister.
On April 15, the charter of demand and the signatures collected from the teachers will be submitted to the Prime Minister and there will be a press conference in the capital.
If the government does not meet their demands by May 2, the assistant teachers will repeat another 10-day work abstention for two hours from the following day, the teachers said.
They will also announce tougher program from a rally in the capital on May 19 after holding rallies in phases at the divisional headquarters.
Chaired by Ujjal Roy, convener of the ATPSS national committee, the convention was addressed, among others, by M Sajjadur Rahman Khosnabish, Nazmul Hassan Liza, Nur-e-Alam Rabiul, Sheikh Abdus Salam Miah, M Salauddin and Ali Murtoza.
