Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor yesterday observed that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is not still safe.
“Sheikh Hasina is always gripped by fear of death. The anti-liberation forces have always been engaged in a plot to kill Sheikh Hasina like her family members as she wants to eradicate militancy from the country,” he said.
The minister was addressing a discussion organized by Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hall of Dhaka University marking the 94th birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Posing a question, Noor said whether country’s people are free although Bangladesh is now independent. “The liberation war begins but it is yet to end. We’re in a difficult struggle… we’ve to win this battle. There’s no scope for losing this struggle.”
Mentioning that some evil forces are engaged in killing people and destroying country’s property, he said, “They’ll strongly be resisted by the people.”
Convener of DU Awami League-blessed teachers’ panel Prof Dr Abdul Aziz, Bangabandhu Hall provost Prof Dr Baitullah Qaderi, BCL president Badiuzzaman Shohag and its general sectary Siddique Nazmul Alam, among others, spoke at the function with president of BCL Bangabandhu Hall unit Darus Salam in the chair.
Later, a cake was cut and a procession brought out to mark the 94th birth anniversary of Bangabandhu.
