Hundreds of Dhaka University teachers, students and employees on Monday observed the 94th birth anniversary of the founder of the nation Bangabandu Sheikh Mujubur Rahman.
The teachers, students and employees led by DU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique placed a wreath at the portrait of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Dhanmondi in the city in the morning.
Later, a discussion was held on Bangabandhu at Teachers Students Centre (TSC) on the campus.
President of Dhaka University Teachers Association (Duta) Prof Dr Farid Uddin Ahmed, DU treasurer Prof Dr Kamal Uddin, general secretary of Dhaka University Officers’ Association Syed Ali Akbar, among others, spoke at the discussion with DU registrar Syed Razur Rahman in chair.
Recalling the contribution of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Prof Arefin Siddique said people of Bangladesh will remember his contribution in the movement for country’s independence forever.
“Ideology of Bangabandhu will inspire all of us to protect our hard-earned independence of our country” he said.
DU observes Bangabandhu’s birth anniv
