Qazi Motahar Memorial Lecture held at DU

National Professor Qazi Motahar Husain Memorial Lecture was held at Teacher-Student Centre auditorium at Dhaka University on Sunday.

Qazi Motahar Foundation and the DU Department of Statistics, Biostatistics and Informatics jointly organized the program.

DU Vice-chancellor Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique inaugurated the lecture session as the chief guest.

Founder Vice-chancellor of Bangladesh Open University Prof Dr Shamsher Ali delivered the lecture on ‘Guru Qazi Motahar Husain: Many Memories’.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof Arefin Siddique said the national will remember him (Qazi Motahar Husain) forever for his outstanding contribution to the country’s science education and research.

“Motahar Husain did not keep himself confined to science and statistics only, but also worked for the welfare and freedom of human being,” he said.

Recalling his contribution to science practice, women education, developing non-communal spirit, the DU VC said the new generation should follow the ideology of Motahar Husain.

Chairman of the Statistics, Biostatistics and Informatics Department at DU Prof Dr MA Zalil and general secretary of Qazi Motahar Foundation Qazi Rounak Husain also spoke at the function held with president of Motahar Foundation Prof Sanjida Khatun in the chair.
