The Indian High Commission in Dhaka will celebrate Independence Day on Friday.
India emerged as an independent nation on August 15, 1947 and celebrates Independence Day on the day each year.
The Independence Day celebrations would be held at the New Chancery Complex, UN Road, Baridhara in the city, said a press release.
Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Pankaj Saran will unfurl their national flag at 9am to be followed by the signing of their national anthem. The High Commissioner will then read Indian President’s message to the nation.
Children of the Indian Community in Dhaka will present a cultural program on the occasion.
Indian nationals and their families will participate in the celebrations.
