Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Saturday expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of administrator of Gopalganj District Council and freedom fighter Advocate Kazi Abdur Rashid.
In a condolence message, the Prime Minister said the country has lost a patriot, devoted politician and freedom fighter at the death of Kazi Abdur Rashid, also a former MP.
“The country and the nation will ever remember with respect the contributions of the close associate of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman,” she said.
The Prime Minister conveyed her sympathy to Rashid’s bereaved family members and prayed for salvation of the departed soul.
Kazi Abdur Rashid died at his Kalyanpur residence in the capital on Thursday night at the age of 82.
He is survived by three sons and a daughter.
