2 missing schoolgirls rescued

Khulna: Police rescued two schoolgirls from Baghmara village in Rupsha upazila on Saturday evening, hours after they went missing.

The rescued girls were identified as Sumi, 7, a Class-I student, and Kajol, 6, a Class-II student of Rahmatpur Government Primary School in the upazila.

Locals said the duo went missing as they left school for home around 12pm on Saturday after taking part in the examination.

Later, sub-inspector Rezaul Karim of Rupsha Bus Stand Police Camp rescued them from the Baghmara village in the evening and handed them over to their respective families.

The schoolgirls said a woman called them out of the school promising to buy them toys.
