3 held along with 42kg hemp in Faridpur

Faridpur: Police arrested three alleged drug peddlers along with 42kg hemp from Kamargram Akhra in Boalmari sadar upazila on Friday morning.
Police also seized a private car from their possession.
The arrestees were identified as Azad Kazi, 22, son of Ismail Kazi, a resident of Matiara village in Comilla sadar upazila, Zamal, 35, son of Chan Miah, a resident of Julai village and Sumon, son of Delwar Hossain, a resident of Gandachi village in Chauddagram upazila.
Being tipped off, police conducted a drive in the area and arrested them along with 42 kg hemp early Friday morning, said Nazrul Islam, sub-inspector of sadar police station.
A private car (No- Dhaka Metro Ga- 15-3485) was also seized from their possession.
A case was filed under the Narcotics Control Act.
Kamruzzaman, assistant superintendent of police, Faridpur sadar circle, said the arrestees have been involved in smuggling narcotic items using this route for long.
