Law Minister Anisul Haq on Sunday said the credibility of the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) depends on fair investigations into graft allegations and the honesty of its officials.
“So, the ACC officials who deal with inquiries and investigations will have to discharge their duties properly. The inquiries and investigations should be conducted in a decent way so that the image of an individual is not tarnished in any way,” he said.
The Law Minister was addressing a refreshers course organized for the ACC’s inquiry and investigation officials at its conference room in the city.
The graft allegations will be disposed of quickly if the inquiries and investigations are conducted properly and cordially, observed the minister.
Anisul Haq said the anti-corruption law was passed through an extensive scrutiny, and the officials must have the proper knowledge of it to conduct their investigations and inquiries fairly and properly.
He said there is no alternative to training to raise the level of knowledge on modern laws and complete the activities smoothly.
Mentioning that the Anti Corruption Commission has a role to play to establish the rule of law in society, the law minister said the success of the Commission depends on the honesty and transparency of its officials.
