3 held over Jahangir killing

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) in an overnight drive arrested three people over the killing of city ward-41 unit Awami League president Jahangir Kabir.
Sources at the RAB headquarters said a team of the crime busting force conducted a drive in different areas of the city from Tuesday midnight to early Wednesday and arrested the three, including gunner Naeem.
Jahangir Kabir, 45, son of M Mustafa, a resident of Paschim Agargaon, was gunned down by miscreants in the city’s Agargaon area on Saturday night on August 9.
Jahangir, also president of Agargaon Taltola Mamata Bahumukhi Samabaya Samity, came under attack by a gang of miscreants on his way back home at Shapla Housing in the area around 11:00pm.
The attackers shot at him, leaving him critically injured.
Later he was whisked off to National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics Rehabilitation where he died at 11:45 pm.
