The 2nd Global Tiger Stocktaking Conference-2014 aiming to save the tiger population of the world will be held in the city on September 14-16.
An inter-ministerial coordination meeting over the conference was held at the conference room of the Environment and Forests Ministry on Sunday with its secretary Mohammad Najibur Rahman in chair.
Representatives of different ministries, including Home and Foreign Ministries, were present at the meeting.
During the meeting, Mohammad Najibur Rahman urged all concerned to make the conference a success through coordinated efforts.
Representatives from 13 Tiger Range Countries (TRC) and different donor agencies will participate in the three-day conference to be held at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the conference at 10:30 am on September 14.
The 13 TRC countries are Bangladesh, India, Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia, Indonesia, China, Malaysia, Vietnam, Laos, Bhutan, Nepal and Russia.
Besides, ‘Dhaka Recommendations’ will be adopted in the conference on September 16.
