Ministers and state ministers today expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of Ekushey award winning journalist, noted cultural personality and veteran freedom fighter Kamal Lohani.

They paid homage to Kamal Lohani for his outstanding contribution to the liberation war in 1971 through journalism and cultural movement, including imprisonment for the independence of Bengali language and motherland.
They prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
Kamal Lohani died at Sheikh Russell Gastroliver Institute and Hospital here this morning. He had been undergoing treatment there with multiple health complications, including diabetes, lung, heart and kidney problems since May 16.
