The National Income Tax Day was observed in the country on Monday, aiming to create awareness among people so that they pay their income tax regularly.
The slogan for the Income Tax Day 2015 is ‘Promise of tax services by tax administration may ensure trust and faith of taxpayers’.

Finance Minister AMA Muhith, NBR chairman M Ghulam Hossain and leaders of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) joined the inauguration of the rally.
Meanwhile, President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina issued separate messages on the occasion of the Tax Fair 2014, which will be held across the country from September 16 to 22.
In his message, President Hamid said he thinks the Tax Fair is a continuation of the old tradition of ‘Punnah’ and ‘Halkhata’, introduced by the Mughal rulers in the region.
He hoped that the Tax Fair will provide an opportunity for building friendly relations between the tax officials and the taxpayers.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, in her message, greeted all the taxpayers, officials on the occasion.
Noting that income tax collections have exceeded the targets in the recent past, she called on all concerned to keep up the trend.
