Key share price index at the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) gained on Sunday, the first trading day after nine-day Durga Puja and Eid-ul-Azha vacation.
The DSE benchmark index, DSEX gained 96.32 points or nearly 1.84 percent to close at 5334.04 on the day. Of the 305 issues traded, 246 gained, 47 suffered loss and 12 remained unchanged.
Shares worth Tk 915.35 crore changed hands at the DSE on Sunday.
The day’s top 10 gainers at the DSE were AIBL 1st Islamic Mutual Fund, Trust Bank, Agrani Insurance, Fami-lytex, Khulna Power Company Limited, Generation Next Fashions, Takaful Islami Insurance, Standard Bank, Mercantile Insurance, and IFIL Islamic Mutual Fund-1.
The CSE key index, CSCX gained 213.78 points to reach 9995.32 at close on Sunday. Of the 235 issues traded, 173 advanced, 52 declined and 10 remained unchanged.
The value of the traded issues was Tk 61.98 crore at the CSE on the day.
