A Dhaka court on Wednesday moved the hearing on charge framing against BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamigr and 40 others to January 14 in a case filed in connection with the March 2 vio-lence last year.
Dhaka Metropolitan Special Judge Md Ruhul Amin passed the order upon a petition submitted by the defence counsel seeking further time.
Thirty-seven BNP men, including its standing committee members Mirza Abbas, Barrister Moudud Ahmed, Goyeshwar Chandra Roy and Barkatullah Bulu , appeared before the court today while Mirza Fakhrul was ab-sent.
Ramna thana police filed the case against the 41 BNP men and 1,200 unnamed people accusing them of ob-structing law enforcers from discharging their duties, attempting to kill them and exploding crude bombs in front of Viqarunnisa Noon School and College in Bailey Road of the capital on March 2, 2013 during the BNP-led opposition's blockade program.
Police submitted a charge sheet in the case against the BNP men on July 5, last year.
