Sirajganj: A minor boy and a woman were killed in separate road accidents in Belkuchi and Salonga upazilas on Saturday.
The deceased were identified as Ahmad Ali, 7, son of Abdus Salam of Naggati village of Belkuchi upazila, Haseban Begum,75, wife of Shaheb Ali of Hatipara village of Salonga upazila.
Officer-in-charge Anisur Rahman of Belkuchi police station said a Belkuchi-bound CNG-run auto-rickshaw carrying passengers ran over Ahmad Ali at Tamai on the Sirajganj-Enayetpur Road at noon, leaving him dead on the spot.
Police recovered the body and sent it to hospital morgue for an autopsy.
Police also arrested the auto- rickshaw driver.
Haseban Begum was killed as a Bogra-bound JK Paribahan bus rammed her while she was crossing the road in front of Hatikumrul union parishad office around 3.00pm.
Police recovered the body and sent it for autopsy.
A case was lodged in this connection, Salanga highway police station officer- in-charge Imdadul Haque said.
