The Education Secretary said the government’s next step would be to convert all the books of technical education and madrasah education curricula into multimedia ones, and the Education Ministry would finance it.
“Students will be able to come out from the culture of memorized knowledge if the education contents are converted into digital version using pictures, charts, diagrams, audios and videos,” he said.
Khan said the government has a plan to supply tablets to educational institutions to read multimedia books and the negotiations has already started with donor agencies for supplying tablets which will make the books of NCTB, Technical Education Board and Madrasha Education Board into multimedia books. Director of Brac Education Program Shafiqul Islam said they have appointed two foreign `e -Learning’ experts- Marteen Delkle of Netherlands and Ruhee Tustam, a Harvard University fellow to develop contents and convert the books of NCTB from class-I to class-V into multimedia books.

The function was addressed, among others, by NCTB Chairman Abul Kashem Miah, Developing Interactive Multimedia Digital Version of Primary Education Contents Project Director Akhter Hossain and Brac officer Nila Afroz.
