ActionAid Bangladesh is going to launch a national campaign, titled ‘Safe Cities for Women’, in Dhaka today, aiming to ensure sexual harassment-free mobility of women in public places, public transport and city streets.
Findings of a survey on sexual violence on city women, ‘Safe City for Women’, will also be unveiled at the launching program at King’s Hall of Spectra Convention Centre, Gulshan-1 at 11:15am.
Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu will address the function as the chief guest, while UK Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for International Development Lynne Featherstone MP as the special guest.
Besides, State Minister for Home Affairs Asaduzzaman Khan, State Minister for Women and Children Affairs Meher Afroz Chumki, Narayanganj City Corporation Mayor Selina Hayat Ivy will spoke at the program, according to a press release.
‘Safe Cities for Women’ campaign begins today
