Airtel Buzz becomes world’s Smartest Storyteller

Airtel Bangladesh Limited, the fastest growing telecom operator in Bangladesh, has become the Smartest Storyteller in the world by Socialbakers.
Socialbakers is the most popular provider of social media analytic tools, statistics and metrics for Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus, Youtube and LinkedIn. It has recently launched a new benchmark called “Smart Storytellers”, the new standard for measuring Facebook content performance.
Almost all the brands in the telecom category that is on Facebook were on the list of nominees. Among them, Airtel Buzz came out as the number 1 Smart Storyteller globally for the quarter, June-August 2014, beating all of local and foreign competitors across the globe, said a press release.
Airtel Buzz, the Facebook page of Airtel Bangladesh, has a fan following of a staggering 2.4 million and the number keeps on increasing every minute. The page posts everything that a youth would like to see on their newsfeed, which is the key to Buzz’s success. The page has high engagement in their posts because of its refreshing contents.
The page also communicates all the new offers to the fans and provides answers to customer queries regularly. The page earned a rating of “AA” on the 468 posts it shared during the quarter. Each of these 468 posts had an average 9,099 interactions (engagement), four times more interaction compared to the 2nd smartest story teller. In the previous quarter, Airtel Buzz was the only page from Bangladesh to be nominated for this award, in the 6th position.
In the mentioned quarter June-August, the page has accumulated more than 5.8 million likes on posts, 152,020 comments, 90,000 shares and has more than 2.7 million photo views on their posted content. Airtel Buzz has generated a total engagement of 6.1 million from a total impression of around 158 million in the quarter of June-August. airtel Buzz is also quite popular for its memes, the only brand page that can pull this off like any other international content driven community pages.
