Hearing against Fakhrul, 45 others Dec 31
Court Correspondent A court here on Monday deferred the hearing on charge-framing against BNP’s acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and 45 other BNP-Jamaat activists to December 31 in a case filed over torching vehicles in front of the PM office in 2012. Metropolitan Magistrate Ataul Haque passed the order when advocate Sanaullah Mia filed a time-petition with the court. Forty BNP leaders and activists, including Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, standing committee member MK Anwar, Hannan Shah, Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, Mirza Abbas, Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, Amanullah Aman and Habibur Rashid Habib were present at the court during the haring. On April 29, 2012, Tejgaon Model thana police filed the case under the Explosive Act for torching vehicles and obstructing police from performing their duties. On May 10, 2012, Nurul Amin, a DB inspector and also the investigation officer of the case, submitted a chargesheet against 46 BNP and Jamaat leaders and activists, including its acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.
