Over 100 Dhaka University admission aspirants went on a hunger strike at the central Shaheed Minar on Wednesday demanding withdrawal the authorities’ decision not to allow students to sit for the DU admission test twice.
Earlier, they held a rally at the premise of Raju Sculpture in Teacher Student-Centre (TSC) from 10.00 am to 12.00 pm.
In the rally, the admission seekers urged the DU authorities to withdraw their decision and give a chance to sit in admission test for the second time.
They announced that they will continue the hunger strike until their demand is fulfilled.
Later, they marched in a procession towards Bangabhaban and submitted a memorandum.
The Dhaka University authorities decided to allow only freshly passed HSC students to appear at its admission tests for a single year from the 2015-16 academic session, aiming to create an equal opportunity for all the aspirants
