A Correspondent Bogra: A local court on Tuesday placed a leader and two activists of Islami Chhatra Shibir, the student wing of Jamaat-e-Islami, including its Azizul Haque College unit president, on a one-day remand in connection with a case filed under the Explosives Act. Senior Judicial Magistrate Court-2 Judge Ferdous Wahed Shanta passed the order when police produced them before it seeking seven days’ remand, the courts sources said. Police arrested the three Shibir men-- Shamiul Islam, president of Azizul Haque College unit ICS, Abdul Matin and Rezaul Karim-- from Satmatha area of the district town on Saturday morning. Witnesses said a group of activists of Islami Chhatra Shibir brought out a procession in the area at about 8:00 am as part of their central programme. When they reached in front of Press Club, police chased off the Shibir men dispersing their procession and a clash ensued. The Shibir men hurled three crude bombs on the law enforcers. At one stage, the law enforcers fired seven rubber bullets to drive them away. Police arrested the three Shibir men in connection with the clash.
