Tigers secure series 4-0

bd-win-28-11Dhaka: Team Bangladesh continued its victory in the fourth ODI of the five-match series at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on Friday.The hosts secured the series 4-0.Shakib-Rubel-Jubair trio picked up two wickets each while captain Mashrafe Mortaza dismissed Zimbawean danger man Elton Chigumbura as Bangladesh won against Zimbabwe by 21 runs.Earlier in the batting session, half centuries from Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah saved Bangladesh from a batting debacle at the hands of Zimbabwe.Winning the toss, Bangladesh skipper Mashrafe Mortaza decided to bat first, but his top order batsmen did not give him much to cheer.Opener Tamim Iqbal (16) did manage to reach double figures, but fellow opener Anamul Haque, Imrul Kayes and Shakib Al Hasan were all below par as the Tigers lost four wickets with only 32 runs on board.Mushfiq and Mahmudullah then added 134 runs in the fifth-wicket partnership to save the hosts from further blushes. Mushfiq's 77 was crafted with 7 fours while Mahmudullah made 82 with 6 fours.Skipper Mashrafe Mortaza then blasted 39 in just 25 balls, hitting 4 fours and 2 sixes as Bangladesh posted 256 in the 50 stipulated overs.For Zimbabwe, Neville Madziva was the most successful bowler, bragging three wickets while Solomon Mire took two.
