Staff Reporter Criticizing the Jatiya Party for not being vocal against the government’s ‘widespread corruption’, BNP senior leader Abdullah Al Noman on Tuesday alleged that the opposition party in parliament has a link with the current administration’s graft. “How will the opposition party in parliament raise their voice against graft in the House if they themselves are involved in it? So, there has been no discussion in parliament about the government’s pervasive corruption,” he said. Noman, a BNP vice chairman, came up with the remarks while addressing a discussion titled ‘Voter-less election is tantamount to annihilation of democracy’ arranged by Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Samajkalyan Dal at the Jatiya Press Club. Accusing the government of grabbing power through a lopsided election, he said the country’s people now want to see a fresh inclusive election under a non-party administration. “BNP’s movement for restoring democracy through a fair inclusive election under a non-party administration is on and it’ll continue until the fall of this regime,” the BNP leader added. Urging his party men to take to the streets braving all repressive acts and bullets, Noman warned that the one-party rule will be cemented if they fail to force the current regime to hold a fresh election. “Those who are now firing shots on us and repressing opposition leaders and activists will get defeated at one stage of our movement,” he told his audience. Noman also came down hard on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for what he said making indecent and indecorous comments against BNP leadership. “People have abandoned her (Hasina) for her such attitude.”
