A magistrate of Dhaka CMM court yesterday indicted detained accused Zubaida Sultana, a resident of Uttara in the capital, on charge of shopping with a stolen credit card owned by Justice AHM Shamsuddin Choudhury of the Supreme Court. According to the case, on June 27, Justice Choudhury’s wife Sabera Ahmed Choudhury (Koli) along with her offspring went to KFC at Kamal Ataturk Avenue in city’s Banani to have some food and left the place after paying the bill through the credit card of her husband, which was issued by the Eastern Bank Limited (EBL). After some time, Koli came to know through an SMS in her cellphone that the credit card used by her husband has been misused by unknown persons who already spent Tk 84, 975 from four shops -- Pharmacy Plus, Banani; and Astorian, Posh & Silk, and Shoppers World at Gulshan. Receiving the SMS, Koli lodged a general diary (GD) with the Banani Police Station the same day after she could not trace her husband’s credit card. Later, she filed a case with the Police Station accusing Zubaida of shopping by the stolen credit card of her husband on September 20. Hours after the case was lodged, police arrested Zubaida and interrogated her in custody for three days following a court order. Accused Zubaida is the daughter of Ashraf Ali of village Mirzapur in Hathazari under Chittagong.
