Vietnam hopes stronger ties with BD
Staff Reporter Vietnam President Truong Tan Sang on Monday hoped that the friendly relationship between Bangladesh and Vietnam would be strengthened further with increased trade volume between the two countries in the coming days. Tan Sang said this when Bangladesh Ambassador to Vietnam M Shahab Ullah presented his credentials to him, according to a Foreign Ministry media release. The present trade volume between the two countries is now 600 million. The Bangladesh envoy expressed his profound regard to Ho Chi Minh, the greatest leader of all time and said he brought the message of good will and friendship of the President and the Prime Minister of Bangladesh for continued growth and welfare of Vietnamese people. Shahab Ullah acknowledged with gratitude the continuous support of Vietnam for the cause of Bangladesh in all international forums. The Ambassador further said Bangladesh is keen to share with Vietnam the spectacular achievements in the area of poverty reduction, disaster management, micro credit financing and achieving the MDGs. Shahab Ullah recalled Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s Vietnam visit in November, 2012 and said she is expecting the return visit of her counterpart in near future. The President also emphasized high level visit of two countries that the bilateral relationship could be more strengthen in the coming days.
