Bus helper burnt in arson attack by pickets
A Correspondent Benapole (Jessore): A bus helper, who was sleeping inside a parked bus, suffered burn injuries as miscreants set fire to two buses at Khajura bus stand in the district town early Wednesday. The injured was identified as Murad Mollah, 22, son of Towab Ali Mollah of Sadar upazila of Magura district. Officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station Enamul Haque said a group of miscreants set the two parked buses ablaze at Khajura bus stand around 4 am when bus helper Murad was asleep inside one of those. On information, police and fire brigade units rushed in and rescued Murad after extinguishing the flame. He was admitted to Jessore Medical College Hospital (JMCH). Dr Kajal Kanti, a physician of emergency unit at the JMCH, said Murad suffered burns on 50 percent of his body. Meanwhile, police arrested eight BNP-Jamaat men from different places for their involvement in the arson attack, the OC added. Earlier, on Tuesday, miscreants set fire on a bus near Dhaka Road Bridge at Barandipara in the town around 9:30 pm. However, no one was hurt during the incident.
