Dr Rezaul re-elected SIBL chairman
Staff reporter Major (retd) Dr Md Rezaul Haque has been re-elected as chairman of Social Islami Bank Limited for the 4th term. He was unanimously elected chairman by the Board of Directors at its 330th meeting held on Monday in recognition of his dynamic and pragmatic leadership towards achieving visible growth of the bank, said a press release. Dr Md Rezaul Haque, also a freedom fighter, actively participated in the Liberation War as a medical officer and performed his solemn responsibilities in Ramgarh, Sabroom and Harina Army Camp Hospitals in India under the Headquarters of Sector 1. After the Liberation War, he joined the Medical Corps of Bangladesh Army with two years anticipatory seniority granted by the President of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh in recognition of his gallant service in the liberation war. He also actively participated in Arab-Israel War at the Golan Heights of Syria in 1973 as a young Captain of Bangladesh Army. In 1978, Dr Rezaul voluntarily retired from Defense Service as Major and joined the health service of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Dr Rezaul is also the Chairman of Little House (Pvt) Limited, Active Builders Limited, Probashi Forum Co-operative Limited and SIBL Investment Limited. He has established Younus Foundation in Begumganj, Noakhali in the memory of his late father for social and economic development of the area. Major Dr Rezaul Haque (retd) was listed as a member of international Who’s Who of professionals in 1999 in Recognition of his academic and civic achievements of life.
