PM mourns at Jumman’s death

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Monday expressed deep shock at the death of the country’s hockey star and former captain of Abahani Limited Jumman Lusai.
In a condolence message, the Prime Minister said Jumman Lusai was an extraordinary talented sports personality as he was the only hockey player of the country who got the chance to play in the World Hockey XI.
She said the success of Lusai's long lasted sports career not only put him in a unique height but also glorified the country’s sports. "His death has caused an irreparable loss to Bangladesh’s sports sector."
Hasina said the people of Bangladesh, especially those involved in sports, will ever remember him with respect for his immense contribution to the sports arena.
She prayed for the eternal peace of the sports personality and conveyed sympathy to his bereaved family members and well-wishers.
Legendary hockey player and national sports award winner Jumman Lusai passed away at a city hospital on Sunday following brain haemorrhage at the age of 60.
